Fees and rewards

Every trade of a Cru token pays a 1% fee in ETH. Most of it goes to the people who hold the token: the creator and the crew. You claim your part in ETH once the token has graduated.

How the 1% is split

The fee is charged on every buy and every sell, on the bonding curve and in the Cru pool. On a buy it is 1% of the ETH you pay in. On a sell it is 1% of the ETH the sale returns.

Creator35%0.35%
Crew35%0.35%
Protocol30%0.30%

The creator share goes to the wallet that launched the token, if its creator buy qualified. The crew share is divided between crew members by their crew balance. The protocol share goes to the Cru treasury, and it also pays for referral rewards.

A 1 ETH trade, step by step

Example
Someone buys 1 ETH of a graduated token

The creator made a qualifying creator buy and still holds all of it. You hold 5% of the crew.

Trading fee, 1% of 1 ETH
0.01 ETH
Creator, 35% of the fee
0.0035 ETH
Crew, 35% of the fee
0.0035 ETH
Protocol, 30% of the fee
0.003 ETH
Your part of the crew share, 5%
0.000175 ETH

The same trade as a sell works the same way, with the fee taken from the ETH the seller receives.

Shares nobody is owed

Sometimes part of the creator or crew share has no one to go to. That ETH is never kept by the protocol. It goes into the token's buyback vault, which buys the token back and burns it. This happens when:

  • the creator skipped the creator buy, or bought less than 0.05 ETH, so the whole creator share goes to buyback;
  • the creator sold or transferred some of their crew tokens, so that part of the creator share goes to buyback;
  • nobody is in the crew yet, as on a token's very first curve buy, so the crew share goes to buyback;
  • after graduation, crew members have sold, so their part of the crew share goes to buyback.

See Buyback and burn for how the vault is spent.

Claiming your rewards

  • Rewards build up from the first trade. Your unclaimed total grows with every trade while you hold.
  • Claims open 24 hours after graduation. This applies to everyone, the creator included. Nobody can claim anything from a token that has not graduated.
  • After that, claim whenever you like. There is no deadline and no limit on how often you claim. Rewards keep building up after each claim for as long as you hold.
  • Rewards are paid in ETH. Creators receive their creator fees and crew rewards together in the same claim.
  • Claiming does not affect your crew balance. Only selling, transferring or burning tokens does.

To claim, open your profile by clicking your avatar next to the wallet button at the top of the page. It shows your unclaimed rewards across every token, and the Claim all button collects them from every token whose claims are open.

Unclaimed rewards are still at risk until you claim them. Selling or transferring crew tokens forfeits the same fraction of your unclaimed rewards, including rewards from before graduation.

Trades outside the Cru pool

The fee is charged by the Cru bonding curve and by the Cru pool on Uniswap V4. Aggregators and other apps that route through the Cru pool pay it too. Anyone can open a different pool for the same token, and trades there skip the fee, so they add nothing to the creator's or the crew's rewards.
